Are you edifying your husband?

Many of my readers know I have a different stance of submission and/or obedience to one's husband than most of the western world. I believe strongly in upholding the Biblical headship. I didn't always have such a stance, but back in 2001 God opened my eyes on this matter. In I Corinthians 11:1-16 it says the headship order is God, Christ, Husband, Wife. Various other scriptures speak in strong terms that a wife should be obey/reverence/respect/submit to her husband. Many ladies who have come to wearing a headcovering or have at least studied on the issue, realize they are supposed to let their husband lead. “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body” (Ephesians 5:23). “Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands…” (1st Peter 3:1). “To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed” (Titus 2:5).

Headcovering Testimony

What is this thing on my head? Most people who are familiar with it call it 'the headcovering' or 'prayer veiling'. Some simply say 'the covering'. Why do I veil/cover my head? Simply put, because I believe God tells me to. I know many do not understand this, but let me begin by giving you the scriptural reference that many today chose to ignore or do not understand. 1 Corinthians 11 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth

Cleaning Copper Pots and Pans with Cream of Tarter

A tip I wanted to share with you all is I have been using Cream of Tarter for cleaning occasionally. It is acidic and cleans well depending on the situation. Usually to clean my copper bottom pots, it takes a lot more hard scrubbing and a brand new green scotch brite pad or a steel wool. However if you make a paste with Cream of Tarter and water and let it sit for a few minutes, the job is much easier. Add in some baking soda if you need more abrasiveness or use a scrubby pad of your choice. If you let it sit for a few minutes, you will need a lot less "elbow grease". All in all, this job went a good deal easier than usual. I know some use things like tomato sauce(or Ketchup) overnight, vinegar, and lemon juice are good cleaning acids for this job too. I am guessing Cream of Tarter isn't something a lot of people will think of using for a item to clean with. So if you have a little Cream of Tarter, don't forget about it's potential cleaning power as well.
